“Ready for Hillary” has been a thing for longer than you thought

We’re not even halfway through 2014, and you’ve already seen what Hillary Clinton has in store for the 2016 campaign (above). It certainly sounded familiar, so I dug this out of the archives:

ready for hillary everest

That image being, of course, a view of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, Nepal, circa 1919. Photo and caption courtesy of Getty and ABC.

And with that, off to bed — and then to the mountains for my first hike of the season. Alas, not Everest.

And yes, I am aware that is the notation for Indian rupees. Adding the Nepali rupee’s “S” made it look asymmetrical and silly. My only real regret is having to leave Tenzing Norgay off. Maybe I’ll revisit this once Hillary picks a Vice.
