Corrigendum for the Seattle Times’ “12th Fan of the week”

I hate to do this to a fellow 12th (wo)man, but I feel it’s important to set the record straight. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Seattle Times has yet to profile me for its adorable segment titled “12th Fan of the Week”, which featured Hillary Carpenter, of Concepcion, Chile, a few weeks back. Here are some highlights:

Fast facts: Moved to Chile last January for her husband’s job — right before the playoffs. “I made my husband subscribe to Direc-TV’s NFL Sunday package before we even found a place to live,” Hillary said. “So we won’t miss a Seahawks game — and of course the Super Bowl!”

Seahawks fan for: As long as she can remember. “Growing up in Lake Forest Park, my parents had season tickets, and every Sunday was their ‘date day’,” Hillary said. “My sister and I would go stay with our grandparents or have a babysitter.”

And here’s the part I feel the need to take issue with:

Favorite Seahawks: Steve Largent, Curt Warner and Dave Krieg. But her current favorite is Russell Wilson. “My whole family screams, ‘Every day we’re Russelling dah dah dahdadadtadat’ non-stop on Sundays, in the car on the way to school, at dinner, etc.,” Hillary said. “It’s like our family cheer!”

Excuse me? Every “day”? Please don’t take this the wrong way, but that’s just not how it goes:

Every play I'm Russellin

That’s better.
