Last night, certified blerd Larry Wilmore disclosed some previously-unreleased inside information about Star Wars. More specifically, he shared the following list of rejected Star Wars character names:
If I’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s that we’re all better off when Mortdecais (however spelled) stay as far away from Hollywood as possible. So thank you, George Lucas, for sparing us from more reviews that read “overall, Mortdecai sinks to the depths” and “Mortdecai lacks . . . wit and charm” and “Mortdecai fails on just about every level” and . . . you get the idea.
In fact, I’m so delighted to have escaped appearing in Star Wars that I’m even willing to forgive Wilmore for describing the names listed above as “objectively absurd”.
